Alex Oyowah has expressed his delight after claiming the Man of the Match award in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Congo on Tuesday.
Oyowah made his first appearance at the 2024 African Nations Championship against the Congolese, and he put up an impressive performance.
The 20-year-old was a surprise inclusion in Nigeria’s squad for the competition.
The Rivers United player justified the gaffer’s faith with his superb display against the Congolese.
Oyowah was full of excitement after the game.
“I feel very proud to have been named Man of the Match in our game against Congo,” Oyowah was quoted by CAF online.
The Home Eagles are expected to return to Nigeria on Thursday after their early elimination.
