One of the ex-inmates who was granted pardon by the Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, Omisakin, on Sunday, December 24, 2024, was remanded in custody at the Ilesa Correctional Centre by a High Magistrate Court in Osogbo for failing to appear in court after eight days. He stole a plasma TV before his release.

The ex-inmate, who was number eight on the list of ex-inmates who were granted pardon, again committed a crime on January 3, 2025, breaking into a house in Inudun area of ​​Osogbo and stealing a plasma TV worth 600,000 naira.

One of the charges filed against Omisakin reads;

“That you Adebayo Omisakin Sunday ‘m’ on the 3rd day of January 2025 at about 12:00 pm at the Al-medinat Area, Iludun in the Osogbo Magistrarial district did break and entered the house of one Shittu Damilare ‘m’ and steal one Plasma TV valued the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (N600,000:00k) only.”
COUNT II reads

“That you Adebayo Omisakin Sunday ‘m’ and on the same date, time and place in the Aforementioned Magisterial District did Steal one Plasma TV valued the sum of Six Hundred Thousand Naira (#600,000:00k) only property of one Shittu Damilare ‘m’.”

He is alleged to have committed an offence contrary to Sections 411(1)(2) of the Penal Code; Sections 34 and 383 of Book 2 of the Penal Code, punishable under them and under Chapter 390, Section 9 of the Penal Code; Section 34 of Book 2 of the Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002. At the first hearing on January 7, the defendant applied for bail but Justice A. Adeyeba adjourned the hearing until January 10 to decide on the bail application. The prosecutor, Kayode Adeoye, in his ruling ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at Ilesa Correctional Centre.
