Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has denied that there is any bad blood between him and his predecessor Nasir El-Rufai.
While answering questions on a TVC news programme on Monday, February 3, the governor stressed that his relationship with El-Rufai is very cordial.
“I can tell you there’s no problem between me and my predecessor. Our relationship is very cordial, and there’s nothing wrong with our relationship. What is more important here is moving our state forward.
“I don’t know why you’re also talking about the State Assembly. The State Assembly is also an independent arm of the government. So there’s nothing. Kaduna State is more important than me and my predecessor,” the governor said.
Early last June, the state House of Assembly tabled a report accusing the former governor and some officials appointed by him of embezzling 423 billion naira worth of state funds.
However, El-Rufai was quick to react through his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, dismissing the report as false and scandalous.
The House of Assembly investigation comes weeks after Governor Sani accused El-Rufai of leaving huge debts.
